Nobody thinks to ask
These old walls
What they have seen
Or what they know
Of storms weathered
And survived
Proud memories
Only history can tell
Maybe someday too soon
These bricks
Once so carefully laid
Will carelessly
Be torn down
Modern progress
Wiping away
All these walls
Have sheltered
Love & violence
Tears & laughter
Stories –
Way too many to tell
But these walls
Can’t talk anyway
And if they could
Nobody would think to ask
